Susan Fair received her BFA in illustration/design from Auburn University
in 1980 and began her career as a graphic designer in retail advertising.
In 1991, she was hired as an art director for Reid and O'Donahue Advertising
where she worked on accounts for Coca Cola, Lowder New Homes, Montgomery Mall, and Enstar Retail.
In 1993, Susan was hired as an illustrator for Air University Press.
A signature member of the Watercolor Society of Alabama, Susan creates artwork
regularly for the Air and Space Power Journal in five languages and other Air University
Press publications. She also designs covers for the School of Advanced Air and Space Studies
reports, the Counterproliferation Paper Series, and the Occasional Paper Series for the Center
for Stategy and Technology. She has worked on many special projects for Air University,
including the design of the stained-glass window for the base chapel.
Susan was commissioned to paint an illustration for the book "The Way I think of You" by
Montgomery attorney Chip Nix and exhibits regularly with the Watercolor Society of Alabama
in Birmingham. She released her first limited edition print, "Ma Cille's Miscellanea", in 2002.
Her artwork can be found in private collections throughout the United States and Brazil.
